The Challenge

Grandir Sans Frontières (GSF) developed a pilot project to educate younger people on making electronics and programming in Quebec, and approached Mechatronics Art to develop a simple robotic platform.

Approach

Mechatronics Art developed a simple Arduino-based robotic platform made of breakout-board-based components easily attachable together that form the basic components of the robotic platform, and adapted the system to work on programming platform such as Snap 4 Arduino, an open source platform to program microcontrollers using Scratch, a visual programming language.

Result

GSF Organized multiple test sessions to 8-12 years old to assemble, test and program the robot during Summer 2016. Tests being positive, various formations have been done since 2016 during GSF day camp and GSF’S coding snack.
